The Alphabet Adventurers

What happens when tiny heroes tackle big word monsters? They get a +1 to their early literacy skills, with a proficiency in school preparation!

When fun is first, learning follows.

The Alphabet Adventurers is a fun and interactive way to teach young children aged four to six the early literacy, communication and social-emotional skills that they need to transition into grade one! They will learn letter recognition, begin to identify simple sight words, and work on their emotional regulation skills by joining a team and co-operating with their peers. Each session will blend guided storytelling, creative expression and play to help children build literary comprehension and confidence, in a fun and magical environment.

These sessions will be run by a talented Dungeon Master who holds an Early Childhood Education diploma from Loyalist College, and is in good standing with the College of ECE’s.

About Albie

As a Registered Early Childhood Educator, making learning fun and engaging has been my greatest passion in life. I love to blend creative activities with the early childhood development skills that young children need to know in order to grow! For the past two years of my eight year career in childcare, I have been working on developing an early years curriculum that is inspired by Dungeons and Dragons and other tabletop roleplaying games. I hold a personal belief that utilizing roleplay for children is a great resource to developing critical thinking skills, as well as encouraging a love of literature and interpersonal communication while building confidence in their own abilities. My goal is for this curriculum to grow and extend to children with exceptionalities as I have worked one on one with several youth on the ASD spectrum and find that the self-regulation benefits of tabletop roleplay is imperative to helping reach their social-emotional goals.

Loyalist College

With a degree in Early Childhood Education, as well as an established membership with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators since 2023, I am fully licensed to work with children aged 0 to 12 in an educational setting! This membership is contingent upon my participation in yearly additional educational courses, and my remaining current and up-to-date on First Aid and CPR care, a valid police vulnerable sector screening check, and child safety courses.
